Cookies Policy

This page explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on Halal Meetups, what each one does, and how you can manage them.
Essential cookies
We use only essential cookies — small files stored in your browser that are strictly necessary for the platform to work. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or cookies that follow you across other websites.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Keeps you signed in. Set by our authentication provider (Supabase). Stored as a secure, HttpOnly cookie — it cannot be read by browser scripts. | ~1 week, refreshed on activity |
| hm-gender-pref | Remembers the gender community you selected when browsing the platform without being logged in. This means you see relevant content without having to re-select your preference on every visit. Only set if you make a selection; not set for logged-in users. | 30 days |
Analytics — no cookies
We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how the platform is used and to monitor performance. These tools collect information including pages visited, approximate geographic region, browser and device type, and performance metrics (such as how quickly pages load).
Vercel Analytics operates server-side and does not place any cookies in your browser. It does not track you across websites, and it does not build individual user profiles. This data is processed by Vercel Inc. (USA) under a data processing agreement with us.
Browser storage
We use your browser's localStorage to save UI preferences — for example, whether you have collapsed the management sidebar, or your preferred sort order in lists. This data is stored locally in your browser only. It never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.
Managing cookies
All of the cookies we set are essential for the platform to work properly. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, but doing so may affect your ability to use the platform:
- Deleting sb-*-auth-token will sign you out
- Deleting hm-gender-pref will clear your guest browsing preference
Most browsers let you view and manage cookies through their settings. Guidance for common browsers:
For more information about how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy. For questions about this policy, contact privacy@halalmeetups.com.
