Brothers Hike: Cannock Chase

Join us for our first Halal Meetups brothers-only hike at Cannock Chase.

We’ll be starting from Marquis Drive, where there is parking and toilet facilities available at the start point. We’ll also finish the hike back at the same location, insha’Allah.

The hike should take around 2 hours and is great for first-timers. This is not a race or an extreme hiking event. The aim is to walk together, enjoy the scenery, and build brotherhood in a halal environment.

You do not need to know anyone beforehand. A lot of brothers come to these things alone, and that is completely normal.

We’ll meet at 11:00am and begin the walk shortly after.

The cost to attend is £7. This helps cover event organisation, platform costs, coordination, future events, and development of new features for Halal Meetups.

We’ll use the group to coordinate how everyone is getting there, whether that’s driving, train, taxi or needing transport. When signing up, you’ll also be asked how you plan to get there, whether you need transport, and if you have any spare seats in your car for other brothers. The aim is to make it easier for everyone to attend and help each other where possible.

What to expect:

* Around 2 hours of walking

* Great for first-timers

* Beautiful outdoor setting at Cannock Chase

* Parking and toilets at the start point

* We start and finish at Marquis Drive

* A chance to meet other Muslim brothers

* Good conversation and time outdoors

* If time allows, we may grab food nearby after the hike, possibly somewhere like Pepe’s

Please bring:

* Comfortable walking shoes or trainers

* Water

* Snacks if needed

* Weather-appropriate clothing
* Modest clothing suitable for a brothers-only Muslim gathering. Please avoid shorts or clothing that exposes the awrah.

* Any personal medication you may need

A few things to note:

Please arrive on time so we can start together. Everyone is responsible for their own safety, belongings and fitness level. This is a social community hike, not a professionally guided hiking event.
